What is the Get The Job You Want Course?
It is a self-paced online course I built for UK graduates who are doing everything they were told to do and still not getting interviews or offers. It covers 8 steps: getting clear on your direction, understanding how hiring really works, building a CV that gets read, writing strong applications, using LinkedIn properly, preparing for interviews and what to do after, all from my perspective as someone who spent 30 years making those decisions.
How is this different from generic career advice?
Most career advice tells you what to do. I tell you how the employer sees it and that changes everything. When you understand how hiring decisions are actually made, the CV looks different, the cover letter reads differently and the interview feels completely different. Everything in this course comes from the hiring side of the table, not from a textbook.
Why are you paying participants?
Because I value your time and I want genuinely honest feedback, not the kind people give when they feel they got something for nothing. I'm investing in a small group of committed graduates because I'm confident in what this programme can do. The payment is my way of showing that.
Is this just a paid research study?

What if I don't have much experience? Is it still for me?
That is exactly who I built this course for. The strategies in it are designed specifically for graduates who are starting out, not experienced professionals changing careers. In my experience, "not enough experience" is almost always a positioning problem, not an actual lack of value. I show you how to fix that.
What does "founding cohort" mean in practice?
You'll be among the first 25 people to go through the course before it launches publicly. That means direct access to me throughout, the ability to shape the final version through your feedback and a level of personal support that won't be available at scale once we open to the wider market.
How long does the course last?
The course is self-paced across 8 steps. However for the founding cohort I will run this throughout July and August. I ask that founding cohort members complete the first 5 steps within the first 14 days to get the most from the live sessions and group support. I'll share a more detailed timeline on acceptance so you'll have full clarity on timing before you commit.
When do I receive the completion gift?
The completion gift is made once you have fulfilled all the course requirements: completed the course, provided feedback throughout, filled in the final survey and attended the end feedback session. Full details are provided on acceptance.
